Accessibility Statement

We want FitnessReviews.org to work for everyone. Here's the standard we aim for, what we've built in, known limitations and how to report a barrier.

Last updated October 7, 2026

We want FitnessReviews.org to work well for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is the internationally recognized standard for making websites usable by people with a wide range of disabilities.

What we've built in

  • Keyboard navigation. Every link, button, menu, filter and form field works with a keyboard alone, a visible focus outline shows where you are, and a "Skip to content" link lets you jump past the navigation.
  • Clear structure. Pages use meaningful headings, landmarks, breadcrumbs and descriptive link text, so they're easier to navigate with a screen reader. Long articles include a table of contents.
  • Color and contrast. Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast in both light and dark themes. We never rely on color alone: FR Scores are always shown as numbers, and video verdicts and "Sponsored" labels are spelled out in text.
  • Reduced motion. If you've turned on a "reduce motion" setting on your device or in your browser, we switch off animations and smooth scrolling.
  • Text alternatives. Product and article images have descriptive alternative text, and specs, pros and cons are real text, not pictures of text.
  • Comparison tables. Side-by-side comparisons use real table markup with row and column headers, so screen readers announce what each value means.
  • Zoom and small screens. Pages stay usable when zoomed to 200% and adapt to screens as narrow as 320 pixels.
  • Forms. Our newsletter, contact and search forms have labels and clear, specific messages that screen readers announce.
  • Videos under your control. Video reviews never play on their own. Each one loads only when you activate its labeled play button, opens in a dialog that keeps keyboard focus inside it, and closes with the Escape key.

Known limitations

  • Captions on video reviews. The videos we feature are made by independent creators and hosted on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Whether a video has captions, and how accurate they are, depends on the creator and the platform. Our written reviews summarize the main points from creator and buyer feedback, so you can get the key information without watching.
  • Embedded players and retailer sites. The video players, and retailer sites such as Amazon, TikTok Shop and brand stores, are run by those companies, and we can't fix accessibility problems inside them. If one gets in your way, tell us and we'll help, for example by describing what a video covers.

How we test

We check new pages and features with automated accessibility tools and by hand, including keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader spot checks and testing at narrow widths and high zoom, and we fix issues as we find them. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we review this statement at least once a year.

Report a barrier

If you have trouble using any part of FitnessReviews.org, please tell us through our contact page. It helps to include:

  • the address (URL) of the page
  • what you were trying to do and what went wrong
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use

We aim to reply within 2–3 business days. If something on the site isn't accessible to you, we'll do our best to provide the information another way.
