Barebells

Barebells is a Swedish protein snack brand launched in 2016 by Vitamin Well Group, the Stockholm-based company behind the Vitamin Well and NOCCO drinks. The brand is run by Barebells Functional Foods AB in Stockholm, and private equity firm Cinven has been the group's lead investor since 2024, with founders still among the owners. Barebells is sold in around 40 markets, and the group says the United States is now its largest market.

Barebells is best known for its protein bars, including soft, original and vegan bars, and it also makes protein milkshakes and newer products such as a protein soda. The company says its products contain no added sugar. Most items are made in the EU, with some produced in the US for the American market, and Barebells sells through retailers as well as its own US online shop. In July 2026 Vitamin Well agreed to combine with EMPWR, the Belgian contract manufacturer that has long produced Barebells bars, in a deal expected to close in late 2026.
