C4

C4 is a performance energy and pre-workout line from Cellucor, the sports nutrition brand Nutrabolt created in 2002. According to Nutrabolt's company timeline, C4 pre-workout powder reached shelves in 2011 and the carbonated C4 Energy drink series launched in 2018. Nutrabolt, which also owns XTEND, is headquartered in Austin, Texas. Keurig Dr Pepper became a minority investor through a strategic partnership announced in December 2022 that includes a long-term agreement to sell and distribute C4 Energy.

C4 Energy comes in several lines, including C4 Performance Energy, C4 Ultimate Energy and C4 Smart Energy, and Nutrabolt says each 16-ounce can of C4 Performance Energy has 200 mg of caffeine and zero sugar. The C4 name also covers pre-workout powders such as C4 Sport. The drinks are sold on Cellucor's website, on Amazon and at major U.S. retailers including Walmart, Target, 7-Eleven and Kroger. Nutrabolt states that C4 Performance Energy is NSF Certified for Sport, and NSF's public database lists many C4 Performance Energy, C4 Smart Energy and C4 Sport products.
