adidas dates its founding to August 18, 1949, when Adi Dassler registered the Adolf Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik in Herzogenaurach, Germany, having made sports shoes with his brother under the Gebrüder Dassler name since 1924. The company is still headquartered in Herzogenaurach and employs around 65,000 people worldwide.
In gym training, adidas sells the Dropset line of training shoes, including the Dropset 4 for strength work and the Adizero Dropset Pro and Elite for hybrid training and fitness racing, plus Rapidmove trainers, along with training apparel and accessories. Its products are sold through adidas's own stores, website and app and through authorized retailers.
