Overview
Celsius built the modern fitness energy drink. Each 12 oz can of the core sparkling line lists 200 mg of caffeine, 10 calories and 0 g of sugar or carbs. Energy comes from caffeine plus guarana seed extract, alongside green tea extract, ginger root extract, taurine and glucuronolactone. The label adds vitamin C, riboflavin, niacin, B6, B12, pantothenic acid, 300 mcg of biotin and 50 mcg of chromium, and it's sweetened with sucralose. Celsius says the drinks are gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO and certified vegan, with no high-fructose corn syrup, aspartame or artificial colors, and the label caps intake at two cans a day.
On paper, it's a clean, well-dosed 12 oz can. Celsius markets itself as clinically proven to accelerate metabolism based on its own studies, and says select products are NSF Certified for Sport.
What reviewers say
Registered dietitian Katey Davidson credited Celsius for funding research on its actual drink, rare in this category, but said the metabolism effects are modest and called it an energy drink, not a health aid; if caffeine isn't a concern, she doesn't think it's a bad option. Sporked's tasters ranked every flavor they could find, noting Sparkling Orange has long been their favorite, even if one taster likened it to orange gelatin. Dr. Tom Biernacki of Michigan Foot Doctors concluded it can be a really good option, while noting too many cans don't agree with him. On TikTok, creators pitch it as a zero-sugar gym staple.
Who it's for
Gym-goers who want a smaller 12 oz can with a full 200 mg dose, lots of flavor choice and a low price per can. Skip it if you're caffeine sensitive, pregnant or under 18.
Bottom line
The most balanced pick in the category: solid formula, broad flavor range and the best value per can.
